Michael André
chairman/President

Michael Andre is CEO and co-founder of WizziLab. Before founding WizziLab, Michael Andre was Director of Engineering and General Manager of Coolsand Technologies France, R&D center of a Chinese based company specialized in 2G/2.5G baseband ASIC. Michael has served in a variety of engineering and management positions at Cirrus Logic and LuxSonor in the Silicon Valley. Michael holds a M.S.E.E. with a specialization in VLSI architecture and design for telecommunication from Telecom ParisTech and a M.S. in Computer Science from Ecole Polytechnique Paris. Michael Andre has served as a Board Member of the Alliance since March 2012 and has been elected Chairman of the board in May 2013. His duty has been renewed by a member vote in May 2014.

Maarten Weyn
Treasurer

Maarten Weyn received his Ph.D. in Computer Science on the topic of Opportunistic Seamless Localization from the University of Antwerp, Belgium. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Antwerp, currently teaching the 3rd year bachelor courses Mobile Communication and Telecommunication and Master courses Communication Systems, and Internet of Things: Low Power Embedded Communication in the department of Applied Sciences: Electronics-ICT, and in the postgraduate Internet of Things, the course on Context Aware Wireless Embedded Systems. Maarten is instructor at the LoraWAN Academy on the topic of localization and lecturer in a few courses on Coursera on Embedded IoT systems. His research in the imec-IDlab research group focuses on ultra-low power sensor communication and embedded systems, sub 1-Ghz communication, sensor processing and localization. Most of his projects are in close collaboration with industry. He started his first company on his 18th but currently he is the co-founder of the spin-offs Aloxy en AtSharp and involved in the creation of the spin-offs 1OK and Viloc. He is director of the Dash7 Alliance, IARIA Fellow and initiator of the Open Source Stack OSS-7. He is one of the makers of the television program Team Scheire at CANVAS.

Actions groups

Protocol Action Group

Intended to develop, update and maintain the Dash7 protocol Moreover, it seeks to establish the software parameters, content and IP of the Alliance to engender the fullest possible participation from those members whose primary interest is the development of an interoperable software for devices, applications and process.

Outreach Action Group

Intended to define, identify and activate market approaches based on the use of Alliance Mode, interoperability, certification, conformance and standards pursuit in all possible industry, CEN, ISO and related bodies. Specifically the OAG will create from authentic material, use cases, user requirements and make approaches to bodies of impact on behalf of the Alliance.

University Action Group

Intended to attract and manage the Academic outreach and encourage, seek funding from both the member and non member community to conduct research, and develop initiatives, for the benefit of the Alliance.
